Liz, a retired Registered Nurse,  began practicing yoga in 2000 and quickly realized the many physical and emotional benefits that it offers. Liz completed her Ashtanga Certification at the Yoga Sanctuary in Toronto in 2004 and began teaching.  Since that time Liz has completed over 1000 hours of yoga training including: Yoga for Athletes, Yin, Pre-Natal, Anusara, Yoga Detour Method (strength based movements), Level 2 Training in Somatics, and is a Certified Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms).

Liz’s classes have evolved over the years to reflect her passion for using yoga as therapy for the mind, body and spirit. Liz’s medical background and her passion to continually expand her knowledge of the body, the mind and their interaction, guides her teaching and provides her with a deep understanding of the movements she brings to her classes. Liz offers classes that are breath-centered, safe, welcoming and fun.

Liz enjoys working with athletes and has designed sport-specific programs for Ironmen/women, runners, golfers, soccer players, hockey players and basketball players. Liz was the yoga instructor for the Peterborough Petes from 2012-2018.

Liz is committed to ongoing professional development and regularly participates in workshops and conferences aimed at refining her skills.

Liz lives in Peterborough with her husband and 2 children.
